Retrofitting privacy onto a system that already collects everything is policy work. Designing for privacy means constraining the data at the sensing layer so the policy has less to govern.
Design commitments worth making explicit
- No facial recognition by default
- No continuous audio recording
- No requirement for video anywhere in the core model
- Local or edge processing where practical
- Minimal event data, configurable retention
- Role-based access control and audit logging
